Women's clothing stores in New York City (alphabetical)
Aga Mróz / The Gift of Dance
Aga is a NYC tanguera who has a gorgeous and very large collection of tango clothes. She also sells the tango shoe brand "Mono". She sells her items in some of the milongas but also has a showroom right here in New York City, located in Jackson Hts, Queens, a minute away from main train station on Roosevelt Ave. Visit her Etsy store at: Aga Mróz / The Gift of Dance or her website at AGA be-You-tiful.
Bettie Page Clothing
Their site says "vintage and retro clothing for the modern woman" and it's the truth! They have great sexy old styles but with modern fabrics that move with your moves... so you can dance the night away but look amazing too.

Butter by Nadia
This is the company that made the kind of dress that you can wrap in hundreds of ways, literally. It basically gives you hundreds of dresses in one dress! You can wrap it conservatively to go to work, then re-wrap in a sexy style to go straight to tango. There are a whole bunch of gorgeous colors to choose from, and there are stores that sell them here in NYC. The factory is in Brooklyn and sometimes they have sample sales, if you sign up for their emails and/or their Facebook page, you can get all the info. The stores that sell their dresses are listed on the site. The store I bought my dresses from is called A Tempo, 290 Columbus Avenue between 73/74. So visit the Butter by Nadia site and see what they have, then you can either order online or call one of the stores here in NY and see if they have the dress you want in stock!
Century 21 Department Store
This is a New York classic and is full of great bargains if you have the patience to endure the crowds and ridiculously limited dressing room which causes huge lines. It's worth dropping in, maybe before or after going to check out Chino Hara's Felina shoes in her place a few short blocks away from the downtown location, or at one of the other 2 NYC locations.
Downtown location: 22 Cortlandt Street between Church and Broadway
Upper West Side location: 1972 Broadway between 66th and 67th
Brooklyn location: 472 86th Street (Bay Ridge Brooklyn)
Very inexpensive clothes, I've found things here like sexy crop sweaters, corsets for $5. It's basically an overstock store so they have good brand names for cheap. The dressing room is horrible but it is worth it for the deals.

New York City's "premiere rockabilly, pin up and burlesque boutique"! Hey, what more could you want? There are many times when you need something a little different for a special theme milonga, Halloween or just to kick things up a notch. This is a small store but packed with goodies... along the same lines as Bettie Page Clothes but with it's own flavor. They're down the street and around the corner from each other, you could go check them both out on the way to a milonga at the Ukrainian! Or check out the Brooklyn location of Enz's!

La Mina Tango Boutique
This is NYC's very first tango boutique where you can find lots of wonderful tango shoes and clothes in an actual store! They're located at 355 7th Ave suite 302 and are open 12pm to 7pm Tuesday through Saturday. If you want to go at another time, you can make an appointment 5 days a week! www.minatangoboutique.com
Have some $$$$ and want to look totally unusual and amazing? Take a look at these designers, Maureen Roberts and Mike Lublin. They are extremely skillful silk dye artists who do their own dying and make luminescent, ethereal dresses, shirts and skirts out of the material. Expensive but totally worth it if you have a special occasion. Visit their Etsy store to see some of their clothes.
